Being a newborn photographer in the Fort Collins, and the surrounding area is not an easy task! There is a lot of great competition these days and it’s forcing me to stay on my toes! When you find something that’s truly your passion, you want to do whatever is possible to learn and grow and better yourself. That’s how I feel about photography. I don’t think I will ever get to the point where I feel like I’ve got it. That’s probably partly due to my issues of perfectionism (but let’s not really talk about that…) and competitive drives (yah, another issue we should leave alone…) but mostly because I believe that no one ever really gets to the point where they’re done learning. There will always be places to improve and grow and innovate. So last month I attended a newborn workshop with the amazing gal behind Pumpkin Pie Photography. The challenge now, for me, is to use and apply all the many things I learned. I never want to try to duplicate someone else’s style or work flow…sure, I am inspired and motivated by many photographers but it never really works out for me to try to duplicate them. I have to keep my identity and my style and just be me. So with that said, here are some of my favorites from my time with Amanda. We had some really gorgeous babies but this first guy is my favorite. I am in LOVE with this first shot of his big eyes…so excited I got this one!
